When we left Seattle about one year ago, we hoped we would be able to return for the month of August as it is our favorite time of year in the Emerald City we once called home. We also really wanted to make it back for our friend’s Karen and Albert’s wedding and we missed our family and friends who still call the Seattle area home. We spent our time back in town trying to catch up and see as many family and friends as possible. We did lots of BBQ-ing, meeting up with friends and swimming in Lake Washington. After a couple of weeks in town, and more than a month away from the ocean, we both needed to go get back into the water, so we took off for a little Washington surf trip as well. James let us crash with him and Dan so we got to spend lots of time with our old roomies. Dan had a new addition to his clan, Jake, the golden retriever. Dan named Jake after our dog Bruce’s Dad. The two have become good friends over the last weeks.
We also used the time in Seattle to get the van and ourselves in for check-ups and teeth cleanings (for us, not the van) and deal with renewing insurance for the van and us. Eric even had shoulder surgery that has healed with no problems. Bruce is still fighting a chronic ear infection, so we have had a fair number of visits to the vet in recent weeks as well.
Our Sister, Alison, and her boyfriend, Jason, came up for a visit over Labor Day weekend. We had such a blast. It is great to see her happy and doing so well. We realized how lucky we are to have so many friends in town, even though it is hard when you don’t get to always see everyone. If we missed you while we were in town we look forward to seeing you next time around.
